Garfield UMC in Pepperpike, Ohio has worked to build a significant relationship with the Garfield UMC on the Camphor Mission. A relationship that began back in the 1980s continues today. Funds have been sent for retiling, repairing the ceiling, and church salary support. A group of volunteers will travel to Camphor in June 2012 to continue this relationship.
East Ohio churches who have stepped up to help meet the need for salary support are: Mentor UMC, Garfield UMC, Brecksville UMC, Church of the Saviour Cleveland Heights, Main Street UMC Mansfield, First UMC Mansfield, Chagrin Falls UMC and others are exploring the possibilities of helping in the future.
Churches and groups who have been inspired by the effort to provide clean water and hand dug wells are: Jordan Martin and Mentor UMC, Seville UMC, Wooster UMC, Brecksville UMC, and the Geneva Rotary.
Countless others have collected shoes, donated school supplies, loaded containers and so much more.
