Wow! Asbury Turns Fifty!
Fifty years of changed lives! Fifty years of
caring for people and creation! A special place
and a special ministry going strong for fifty years!
Nothing recommends Asbury’s ministry more highly than
the children and grandchildren of former campers and
summer staff who now come to experience and love Asbury
themselves. This summer share a golden tradition
that spans three generations.
There’s plenty that’s new and different about Asbury,
but the moment you enter the camp you’ll feel at home.
For
Summer 2007 Asbury rolls out a summer-long “Retreat
Center” format for junior and senior high campers who
prefer comfort over roughing it. The line up
includes: “Hangin’ Out,” “More Than Muggles,” “Pirates
of the Cuyahoga,” “Space Week,” “Water Week,” and “the
Write Stuff.” How you “Hang out” is your choice.
“More than Muggles” was such a hit last summer that
Asbury has added new chapters of Harry Potter for 2007.
“Pirates of the Cuyahoga” is a new addition. Even
“land lubbers” will get hooked on Asbury’s pirate
shenanigans. RRRRR! Get ready to exercise
your imagination at Asbury this summer.
Asbury’s summer-long day camp continues to grow.
Weekly themes add variety. Attend for a week or
for multiple weeks. Day camp is a great
stepping-stone to a residence camp experience.
All
of Asbury’s programming is designed to incorporate
campers into small-group community. Campers and
staff build trust, cooperation and connection as they
share camp activities. Spiritual growth
opportunities are built into every day at camp.
Asbury’s Family weekend events, August 17-19, 2007, will
include a celebration of 50 years of ministry.
Mark your calendars for Asbury’s Fiftieth Anniversary
Homecoming weekend, Oct. 5-7, 2007.
The
company we keep matters. And growing lifelong
relationships is at the heart of every Asbury
experience. All the fun stuff we do at camp helps
build a deeper relationship with God, healthy
relationships with other people, and a caring
relationship with the world around us.
