Activity Options

It’s your week – plan it how you want.  You and your group will plan your week together.  Two weeks of the same program may look very different depending on what your group chooses.  Some programs have more time for planning than others.  Options will include special events and activities as listed below.

Day Camp - Back by Popular Demand
Grades 1-3 in the fall of 2007
Wanake by day and home at night! We'll pack your days full of fun and you'll still get to sleep in your own bed. Catch this exclusive week for day camp. Hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day. Lunch is included in the fun.

One Day Adventure
Grades 1-9 in the fall of 2007
Dive into summer camp for one day. Campers arrive for a 9:00 a.m. start and conclude the day with a parent program at 4:00 p.m. Enjoy games, a cookout, Bible study, swimming and hiking. The older groups will get to plan their day. Additional options for older groups include canoeing and rock climbing. Come with your church group, come with a friend or come to meet new people. Special Persons Camp

Alumni Work Week
Adult Alumni of Wanake
Step into the 61st year of Wanake with a work week and day celebration.  Attend a day or the whole week.  Stay in the retreat house (health center), your own tent or RV or enjoy a cabin for old-time sake. 

Arrive Tuesday, June 12 or any day through Friday, June 15 for an alumni work week.  Put your skills to work for God’s Kingdom as alumni assist in preparing for the summer camp ministry or the on-going viability of the year-round ministry.  Gardening, typing, filing get-acquainted forms, Trading Post set up, Home-in-the-Woods preparations, baking, mowing, assisting with staff training, trail maintenance, prayer trail development, and more await you.  In the evenings we will enjoy campfires and more fellowship.  A day outing to Amish country and the surrounding area is an option.  Alumni will plan their own schedule as a group once on site. 

We will invite the wider Wanake alumni family to join us on Saturday, June 16, 2007 from 1-4 PM for a alumni gathering and sing-a-long.  Join us for an afternoon of fellowship, music, and old-fashioned homemade ice cream.  We hope you will join us for part or all of this mission oriented Alumni gathering.
