Try a little of everything. Can’t pick or don’t want to pick just one kind of activity? Then come to sampler camp and try a new thing every day. You’ll get to pick a few of the activities with your new friends. Start your Aldersgate experience at Sampler Camp.

Just Camp

That’s right, you create your camp experience each day. You’ll have activities to choose from most of the programs listed in the Aldersgate section of the brochure. NEW! WEEKEND STAYOVER
Grades 4-12 in the fall of 2008
After you register for camp, contact the Camp Aldersgate office to sign up for a weekend stay over. You can use the weekend stay over to create a multiple weeks camp experience or to solve that little issue of picking up one camper on Friday night, just to turn around and drive back to Aldersgate on Sunday. That’s right, now all you have to do is have the camper from week one spend the weekend and pick them up on Sunday when checking in your other camper. Not going to be home on Friday...no problem, we’ll be more than happy to keep your camper around for the weekend, after all....someone has to clean the camp bathrooms....JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!!!!!! For more information, contact the Camp Aldersgate office, or check out our web site. The weekend stay over fee is $59 per camper no matter the length of stay. (No discounts for only one night stay over.)

The Apprentice

You’re Hired! For what? Junior Camp Director! That is, if you have what it takes. Every day you get to complete a wild and crazy task in hopes of becoming the next “Jr. Camp Director.” Campers in this camp will need to be able to drive the camp director around on the camp golf cart.

This week is packed with activities and time for you to board and blade as much as you can “stand.” We will spend at least one day at a skate park having a blast. Babysitters Training

Grades 7-9 in the fall of 2008
Become a certified babysitter! This certification is taught by the American Red Cross and, if completed, will certify you as a babysitter. While you’re here you’ll learn first aid, child CPR, and also a lot of fun games to play while you’re babysitting. This program is just for girls and follows the night camp schedule of staying up until 1:30 am.

Roller Coaster

We are going to load our equipment, you, and ourselves into our van and hit the road. Can you break the record set by the 2007 campers for the most number of Coaster Rides in one week? Come and find out! This program is a trip camp and you will be staying at different campsites each night.
Special Notes: This camp has a four-week registration deadline. Sorry, we are unable to “credit” the cost of season passes that you may already have for any of the parks we may visit.

House Boat

Music Art Drama Dance…MADD Camp
Grades 8-12 in the fall of 2008
Music, Art, Drama, Dance, will be on the menu for anyone wishing to express their creativity. Play in the band, sing in the choir, dance on your toes, draw, paint, decorate a cake, play your guitar, create great crafts and act up all you want. We will have several interest and focus groups you can choose from each day…interpretive dance, video production, web-design, themed dancing, guitar (bring your own guitar for this one), scrap booking, stamping, sign language, song writing, creative writing, digital photography, and many more. Each day will have opportunities for you to sign up for different interest groups. Plus, we also have different “Focus Groups” to select from. What’s the difference? A focus group will get together several times during the week, interest groups change daily. So, you get to pick something to stick with and practice each day, and have several chances to try new and different things. Celebrate your many M.A.D.D. God-given gifts as you learn how great it is to share them with others. This program will have a public variety show on Friday night and second show on Saturday for your friends and family. Labyrinth Adventurers

Counselor in Training- Leadership Training
Grades 10-12 in the fall of 2008
Every year, almost every camper says, “I want to be a C.I.T.” If you are an Aldersgate camper you already know who these amazing C.I.T.’s are. Here is how you become one. This program is a leadership training camp. The camp staff will train you on how to lead many of the games and activities we do here at Aldersgate. Then, if you pass the course, you will be invited back to work as a C.I.T. during other weeks of the summer leading games, running activities, and getting special privileges to do all the things you’ve seen C.I.T.’s do when you were a camper. Sign up early, space is limited. You’ll receive a packet after you register.
