camp wanake
volunteer and grow
Volunteers are
vital ingredients to a powerful and effective ministry at Wanake.
Since the early years, Wanake’s mission has been fulfilled through
the efforts of scores of volunteers working in every aspect of
planning and operation. Wanake’s continued health depends upon the
contributions of volunteers like you.
Your help is
needed! A week, day, or even a few hours make a difference.
Whether you volunteer on site, recruit campers or staff (paid and
volunteer), or support the camping ministry through prayers or
donations, YOU are important to the life of Wanake!
Wanake utilizes
volunteers all year long. Vital preparation requires volunteers in
the fall, winter and spring. More hands-on help is needed during
the summer camp ministry, June-August. Please prayerfully consider
how God might be calling you to serve!

mvp: another way to
share your gifts
in ministry at wanake
Wanake invites you to share your
time, talents, gifts and service as a MVP (Maintenance Volunteer
Program) volunteer. MVP is a vision for ministry at Wanake, which
focuses on the site’s physical needs in light of creating and
sustaining an environment for ministry. The vision, given to
Phillip White, Site Manager at Wanake, is that each MVP volunteer in
giving of their time, talents, gifts, and service assists in the
stewardship of Wanake, a “God-sized” task, requiring the whole Body
of Christ. This will further Wanake’s out reach to and nurture of
guests and campers. MVP volunteers make a time commitment to the
ministry. The commitment could be as much as two (2) to eight (8)
hours each week or as little as one (1) or more days each month or
each year. In MVP you, the volunteer, are the MVP, Most Valuable
Player. Through MVP, you can help Wanake move forward in providing
a place where the grace of God is experienced and lives changed.
