The United Methodist Church Mission is to MAKE AND MATURE DISCIPLES FOR JESUS CHRIST. The Education Committee is part of the work of the East Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church, located within the structure of the Conference and we are supported through the Conference Budget.
The Church does not have a Christian Education - —IT IS CHRISTIAN EDUCATION!
Purpose:
- To develop and promote Christian Education that gives all children of God, regardless of age, a transforming knowledge and experience in the Christian Faith.
Goal:
- To provide the tools that will motivate our Christian Community, and the world.
- To promote the development of a spiritual life throughout the East Ohio Conference
The Conference Education Committee’s structure is 20 members. The chair is nominated by the Bishop; 18 members are nominated by the Leadership Committee and all are elected by Annual Conference.

As a Conference Committee, we are committed to plan events to resource the LOCAL church.
We do so by—
- Promoting spiritual formation groups on local churches
- Updating the web site link
- District training and other training events
- Child and youth protection Policies and Procedures
- Promoting Christian Education as a vocation
- Compiling a resource directory of ministries(like puppets, clowns, speakers, etc.)
- Helping educational ministry staff to relate to staff parish committees of the local church.
- Supporting the various age level work throughout the Conference-Older Adult Task Force; Youth; Young Adult Task Force; Confirmation Retreats
