2009 Awards

Denman Evangelism Award

Begun in 1980 to honor United Methodist clergy and lay persons in each annual conference who exhibit unusual and outstanding efforts for the work on Christian Evangelism, the Denman Evangelism Awards help draw attention to evangelism in our conference by honoring one clergy person and one lay person who are reaching others effectively for Christ.

Weltmer Scholarship Winner

When the late J. J.  Weltmer provided money in his estate to establish a scholarship fund, he quite likely never conceived of all the people his generosity would touch.  His original intent was to help students from his own church and children of clergy families.  Over the years the circle of applicants has been expanded with a special emphasis on persons expressing a call to full-time Christian ministry.
