Urban Restart

All God’s Children UMC is the result of Central UMC in Mansfield closing its doors on June 30 and restarting as a multi-cultural church.  They will be meeting in a local Elementary School and intentionally developing programs to reach the multi-cultural, inner-city population of Mansfield.  Jeff Croft has been appointed to lead All God’s Children. Read about its plan. (PDF File) Visit All God's Children Web site

Rural New Church Start

Real Life UMC was launched in the  Belmont Local School District.  Real Life is a part of a two-point charge, yoked to Morristown UMC.  They  provide an indigenous, multi-sensory worship experience.  A leadership team is already meeting in the school, and they have open-gym basketball once each week to attract young adults and youth in the area.  Ashley Baxter leads Real Life. Birthing Model

Church of the Lakes UMC was started in 1956 in a pioneer church planting effort by a group of people from Canton Church of the Savior (previously First Methodist).  In turn, Church of the Lakes UMC will continue that 47-year legacy by “birthing” a new church.  Thom Kalb has been appointed to Church of the Lakes as the Church-Planting Pastor, with responsibilities to start small groups and develop a core of 50 people from Church of the Lakes to start the new church.
