Congregational Development is aggressively working on increasing the number
of New Church Starts.

Participants in the
New Church Start Academy will:
1. Study the
following course topics:
Discerning a call to a New Church Start
Developing a vision of a New Church Start
Focusing the church with prayer as a
central theme
Developing leadership and core teams
Leadership principles of a founding pastor
Developing the DNA of a church
Natural Church Development
Spiritual gifts inventories and Network.
Stewardship for the new church
Small group and meta model ministry
Discipleship training
Determining your target audience
Creating inspiring worship in the new
church
Step-by-step process of starting a new
church
2. Attend events
sponsored by a teaching church or National conference
3. Complete
personality, skills and gifts inventories
4. Prepare for
sessions by reading assigned books
5. Attend Boot Camp
after an appointment to a new church start has been made
Enrollment is limited to
12
Enrollment fee of $200.00 is due upon
acceptance into the New Church Start Academy
All participants should understand that they
may not have the opportunity to use these skills in a New Church Start.
However, the skills learned in the academy will increase leadership skills in
any pastoral situation.
