Betsy Stewart

Betsy Stewart is the benefits manager for the East Ohio Conference of The United Methodist Church. She has over 23 years of experience in managerial and benefits administration. As Benefits Manager, she is employed to do the work of the Conference Board of Pension. She is responsible for all functions relative to providing and maintaining benefits for clergy members of the East Ohio Conference and lay employees of the Area Center. She is the liaison between all benefit carriers and the conference as the plan sponsor, coordinating plan document language, EO Conference policies, and participant eligibility.  In addition, she converses and assists pastors, treasurers, committee members and staff with lay employee benefit information, availability, and implementation processes.

Stewart has a Bachelor of Arts degree in business from Walsh University. Prior to being employed by the conference in 1994, she worked for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, in the Medical Benefits Department, as a supervisor for active and retiree claims.

Betsy is the mother of three daughters.
