Ray Roberts
Ray Roberts
has spent more than 30 years helping churches in East Ohio select curriculum,
books, and media resources. Ray came to the Media Center in the position that is
now Media Specialist in 1988. During those years, churches have taken giant
steps in the use of media. Churches are learning that, just as on the day of
Pentecost, we must reach people in their own language. For people today, that
language involves a screen.
Ray is dedicated to helping churches use media more
effectively. She has led workshops for United Methodist districts, at annual
conference, and for the Northeast Ohio Church and Synagogue Library Association,
the Presbytery of Muskingum Valley, and the Ohio Christian Educators
Association. Some of her workshops are on:
-
Video resources in Christian Education
-
Choosing resources for your church
-
Don’t be afraid of technology
-
Multi-Media in worship
-
What the Church must know about video copyright
-
Resources for spiritual growth
Ray has served the local church as a youth leader,
Sunday school teacher, adult coordinator, chairperson of the Education
committee, and chairperson of Council on Ministries. She is a lay speaker and a
Stephen minister.
Ray is a member of Church of the Savior in Canton,
where her husband George is pastor of Administration and Older Adult Ministries.
They have five adult children.
