The Episcopal Office in the East Ohio Conference performs several functions. Foremost in its duties is to support the work of the Episcopal leader in his/her function as a general superintendent. The bishop has responsibilities to both the general church and the annual conference.
Presently, our bishop chairs two committees and serves on several others at the denominational level. At the annual conference level, he supervises the cabinet of ten district superintendents as they engage in the appointment process in particular and the operation of the annual conference in general.
In addition, the Episcopal office oversees the planning and execution of the annual conference session, the nomination of most chairpersons, the nomination of Board of Ordained Ministry members, most chairpersons of conference committees, and general oversight of the operation of the Area Center |
