Benefit Dinner

Grace UMC, Goodwill Industries, and Carrabbas Italian Grill are working together to give people with mobility limiting conditions much more than a “doggie bag.”  Grace UMC is hosting a benefit dinner at 5:30 and 7:00 p.m. to raise awareness for Goodwill’s Assistance Dog Training Program.  The program trains and places Assistance Dogs with individuals to help them with everyday tasks necessary for independent living.  The evening will feature Service Dog demonstrations and a Carrabbas favorite: Chicken Marsala, Penne Pomodoro, Creamy Parmesan Salad, and bread, all for only $14 per person.  Tickets must be purchased by May 6th.  For more information on the dinner event, please call Grace United Methodist Church at (330) 499-2330.  The church is located at 1720 Schneider St. in North Canton.  For more information about the dog training program.

Chamber Singers

Arts in the Cathedral will host the Chamber Singers from Pennsylvania’s Bloomsburg University for a free concert at 7:00 p.m. at Church of the Saviour in Cleveland Heights. The program will feature English madrigals as well as selections from Brahms’ Liebeslieder Waltzes and Schubert’s Mass in G.  The Chamber Singers is a vocal group of 18 members performing a wide variety of music from classical repertoire to selections from musicals. Conductor Dr. Wendy Miller is a native of Cleveland. Evening of Praise

The Brentwood UMC presents an Evening of Praise beginning at 7:00 pm. Music will be provided by: The 3:16 Band, a contemporary gospel band. There will be refreshments following the service, everyone is welcome. For more information call: (740) 264-4531.

Family Rally Day

Boardman Park (Rt 224 in Boardman, OH), Hofmaster and Long Pavilions is the site from 2:00-8:00PM for a rally day. There is no cost for this fun, family oriented event.  Free food, games, gift baskets, guest artists, and speakers throughout the day. Artists and speakers include:  Chip Richter, Tia Ciferno, 11th Hour, Unmerited, Dave Kahout and Ash Welch. Music by the Boardman UMC Praise Band, Rejoice, Western Reserve UMC, and the Poland UMC Praise Bands. The event is sponsored by the Mahoning Valley District of the United Methodist Church. R.O.C.C. Fest

This free concert is from 4 - 10 PM on the practice field at Fredericktown High School, 117 Columbus Road, Fredericktown, Ohio 43019.  Scheduled to appear are The Devil Wears Prada, This Fire's Embrace, For The While and Kairos.  Regional bands include: Blood of God, WhiteStone, Seven Story Coalition, Safe Uprising, and Eric Bressi.  Guest speaker is Michael Redd , former OSU basketball player and current NBA player. Food vendors, merchandise and door prizes will be available. This is an ecumenical event sponsored by Fredericktown churches including Fredericktown UMC and Waterford UMC along with local businesses. King’s Brass Concert

The King's Brass is coming to Mayfield United Methodist Church, 7747 Mayfield Rd in Chesterland, OH, at 6pm.  The concert is 90 minutes and is free; an offering will be taken.  The King's Brass features 7 brass players, a keyboardist and a percussionist. Appalachia Service Project Fund Raiser

St. Paul UMC, 746 Cherry St, Galion will host an evening of music and dinner from 6:00- 8:00 pm. The cost is $12.50. Choice of vegetable or meat sauce lasagna with salad and dessert. Victory In Da Ville Christian Festival

The 3rd annual "Victory In Da Ville" Christian Festival will take place from 11:00am through 7:00pm at the Brentwood United Methodist Church grounds. The church is located at 148 Stephens St. Wintersville, OH.  The festival includes live music: Kalled Out(Christian rappers), The 3:16 Band (all styles), Fore-Runner(Christian rock), Revelation Praise Band, Real Life Praise Band, Experience Praise Band, The LeBeaus( Southern Gospel)plus food fun, fellowship, a car show, children's activities including a clown, face painting and much more. SummerFest 2008

SummerFest 2008 is a safe place for the whole family to have a great time, meet new neighbors and see old friends from 5:00-11:00 p.m. at Church of the Saviour in Cleveland Heights. SummerFest features live bands; a 52-foot long inflatable obstacle course; kids’ FunZone with games, prizes, face painting, puppet theater and clowns; a team pie-eating contest; cotton candy and snow cones; hamburger, hot dogs and sodas; some special visitors; and tours. The event concludes with a free, indoor, family-friendly movie beginning at 9:00 p.m. on two big screens. Admission is free and the event is open to the community. Game tickets are $.25 each and food is for sale. Bring a blanket or lawn chair for the indoor movie. Rain date is the 29th. All proceeds from SummerFest support the youth mission trips and service projects in local neighborhoods and around the nation. Montrose Zion UMC is sponsoring this annual golf outing at Rawiga Country Club. Prizes will be donated to the 3C’s Mission Initiative, (Churches, Clinics & Classrooms) in the name of the pastor’s local church.  Looking for pastor’s foursomes. The format is best ball.
