This Scholarship will be given to a Seminary Student that is Evangelical in doctrine and practice, as evidenced by their statements of faith and by the recommendations of those who know them.  Preference will be given to individuals who are pursuing Elders Orders and plan to serve in the Pastoral Ministry of the East Ohio Annual Conference.  The recipient must be in the Candidacy Process working toward Ordination as an Elder.

The following grants and scholarships are administered by the East Ohio Conference Board of Ordained Ministry.

Board of Ordained Ministry Seminary Student Grant.

Seminary General and Ethnic Minority Grants
 

1. Must be District Committee on Ministry Certified Candidate for Ordained Ministry.

2.Must be seeking ordination in EOC as Elder or Deacon. 

3.Must be a seminary student working on the M.Div. degree for Elder track or on the seminary requirements for Deacon.

4.May be either a full- or part-time seminary student.
 

October 1st for fall and February 1st for spring

 

Board of Ordained Ministry Ethnic Minority grant

1. There is an additional BOM grant available to ethnic minority students, whether they are certified candidates or not.

2. Must be seeking ordination in EOC as an Elder or as a Deacon. 

3.This grant is also available to ethnic minority undergraduate pre-seminary students.

4. Applicants who are not certified candidates must be in relationship with their District Committee on Ministry.
 

October 1st for fall and February 1st for spring

The James S. and Ruth Thomas Scholarship,

The Thomas L. Cromwell Scholarship, The Keifer Memorial Seminary Scholarship, The Theological Education Fund Scholarship.

Application materials are available in January for the subsequent academic year. 

 

1   A full time student, or accepted for full time enrollment, in a University Senate approved seminary

2    Enrolled in an M.Div. program  for the elder track, or in the seminary requirements for ordained Deacon

3 A Certified Candidate from East Ohio Conference seeking ordination as an Elder or as a Deacon in the East Ohio Conference

4. Enrolled full-time for the full academic year subsequent to the scholarship award in May or June.
