HEADING DOWN THE RIGHT PATH

Trip Camps - collage

East Ohio Camps have a long history of trip camping. Two of the trips that are the foundation of this trip camping ministry are the Algonquin Canoe Trip and the West Virginia Backpacking Trip. These trips both originate at Camp Asbury where they plan and prepare, then head off into the wild blue yonder.

The Algonquin Canoe Trip has been happening for many years and is an exciting adventure of living in the outdoors at Canada’s Algonquin Provincial Park in Eastern Ontario. Campers have the opportunity to spend six memorable days flat-water canoeing and wilderness camping. They hear the laugh of the loon and smell the aroma of fir and spruce. Each member learns to work together as a team to be successful. There are lots of challenges, but it is all worth it to be in the middle of God’s wondrous creation.

The West Virginia Backpacking Trip is not for the meek or mild. It is a healthy dose of “home on your back”. Campers refine their outdoor skills and learn new skills as well. They spend four days backpacking in the majestic Potomac Highlands of West Virginia, experiencing God’s presence.

Each of these trips gives campers the opportunity to experience some of the most beautiful pieces of creation around.
