The purpose of
the Board of Laity is to prepare and encourage all people in a
life of Christian discipleship.
This purpose statement will guide
the board in its work in the 2004-2008 quadrennium.

The Board of Laity's vision is to
help lay persons find and see their gifts so as to be able to work
in partnership with clergy. The board’s work will provide
training to help persons better utilize their gifts in their own
local church and with other churches throughout the conference.
