Popsicles, Bibles and a kind word

As part of Kennonsburg UMC’s (Southern Hills District) evangelism plan, a tent was set up at the four day Ohio Hills Folk Festival in Quaker City. Church members passed out free water, pop, chips and cookies as well as tracts, Bibles and invitation cards to the church. It was estimated that over 500 bottles of water were handed out. During the mile long parade on Friday evening, 350 popsicles along with a card inviting people to church and Vacation Bible school were also handed out.
Seeds were planted that day as church members and festival goers chatted and connected with one another. Kennonsburg members hope that the jesture of a free refreshing bottle of water, cookie or popsicle may encourage others to attend a church, read the word or just ask someone a question about the Lord.
