Steubenville Urban Mission Support

The Urban Mission has received a $75,000 grant for a much needed new roof and kitchen.  The first $75,000 is a challenge for the second half of the money. 

Rev. Bruce Hitchcock, director, states they need a total of $150,000.  This is over and above the normal operating costs. 

It is a difficult time to ask for money.  Most of us are experiencing difficult financial times. Yet, I would not be a good steward, if I did not ask for your help. The roof has needed repair for over three years.  We have not been in a position to approach the project. 

We are in a position now to ask for help. 

The kitchen needs to be redesigned and remodeled. We have been making and serving 15,000 to 17,000 hot meals annually for over 12 years.  The counter tops, cupboards, plumbing, electric and ceiling need to be replaced.  The cost is approximately $25,000. 

Our hope is that churches, friends, Sunday school classes, youth groups, individuals and school groups can help with whatever donations they can to assist us. 

The work accomplished by the Urban Mission for the sake of the Gospel and for our community is significant.  All of what we do for and in Jesus Christ depends upon all who bear his name.
