Started the day way too early for some with
breakfast, devotions, and photo opps before
getting on the bikes. This year we have a
father-son-grandfather team. John Lundin is the
father and Tommy is his son. Bill Lundin is
called "Pa Pa," by Tommy. We also have a
mother-daughter-father team made up of Becky,
Kelly and Ken Gifford.
We got lost less than one mile from the church
before we ever got onto the Little Miami Scenic
Trail. They hid the trailhead at the top of a
steep hill. Once we found the trail it was
pretty much smooth pedaling the rest of the
day. We rode 56 good miles and made some new
friends along the way.
It was nice to arrive at Faith Community UMC in
Xenia and receive such a great welcome. They
even had "Welcome Pedaling Parsons" on the
marquee out front. Their United Methodist Men
served up spaghetti, meatballs, salad, and
dessert that looked like an exploded cream puff
with strawberries. It was all good the last
drop.
Speaking of dropping, I'm ready to inflate my
air mattress, though it's only 7:43 PM. Looking
forward to some more beautiful miles and new
friends tomorrow as we head to Springfield.
Happy Trails In Christ,
Don Richards
