More than 200 youth gathered at Fort Rapids in Columbus to celebrate God and the difference he is making in their lives. The event was a chance to highlight the many service projects the youth have achieved on behalf of Project 1:8. Modeled after the challenge Jesus issued in Acts 1:8, “But when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you will receive power and tell people about me everywhere, and to the ends of the earth,” Project 1:8 has impacted individuals and communities across East Ohio.
In Columbus the youth were treated to testimonies from Jason Raitz, pastor at Mt. Pleasant Community Church in Michigan, and Samuel Orlando of Compassion International. Orlando told of being saved as a child by the kindness of strangers who sponsored him through the Compassion program. He now sponsors others. Friday night ended with the youth on their feet singing along with the Canadian band, Starfield.
