BISHOP'S OFFICE
Bishop Tracy S. Malone invites all East Ohio Conference clergy actively serving in ministry to come together for a day of rest and renewal on Saturday, April 2 from 9:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Faith UMC in North Canton.
Clergy are serving and leading in stressful, exhausting, and difficult times. This Clergy Day Apart, designed by a team of active clergy, is an opportunity to feed your soul through reinvigorating worship, fellowship, self-care, and conversation. Clergy will hear a validating and empowering message from featured speaker the Rev. Twanda Prioleau and will participate in engaging breakout sessions designed to help you reflect, reconnect, re-center, and revel in your ministry. Rev. Prioleau is pastor of Christ UMC in East Baltimore, MD and author of the book Breathe: A Pastor’s Journey to Wholeness.
Rev. Twanda Prioleau is pastor of Christ United Methodist Church in East Baltimore, Maryland. She also serves on the Baltimore-Washington Conference Baltimore District Committee on Ordained Ministry, the BWC Health and Wellness Board, the BWC Clergy Care Intensive, is treasurer for the Black Clergy Women of the Baltimore-Washington Conference, and historian for the National Black Clergy Women. In addition, Rev. Prioleau is the incoming Professional Development chair for the Maryland Association of Spiritual, Ethical, and Religious Values in Counseling. She is a member of Zeta Phi Beta, Incorporated, Mu Zi Zeta Chapter.
In addition, Rev. Prioleau has a love for self-care and finances. She is a ICF trained coach since 2013. Coach facilitator for the Mid-Atlantic United Methodist foundation. Coaching individuals and churches in finances. A graduate of Morgan State University and Lancaster Theological Seminary, she holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Master of Divinity degree. Rev. Prioleau completed Clinical Pastoral Education at York County Hospital in Pennsylvania. Currently she is a student at Messiah University, pursuing a degree in Mental Health Counseling.
After suffering clergy burnout, Rev. Prioleau took a three-month sabbath leave seeking rest and healing for her soul. It is her desire to walk with individuals as they find time to “breathe.” She is the author of the book Breathe:– A Pastor’s Journey to Wholeness available on Amazon.
Rev. Prioleau believes she has been appointed for “such a time as this.” She has a love for the Lord and wholeheartedly believes and embraces Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
