Camp Aldersgate
Camp Aldersgate is a beautiful Summer Camp and year-round Retreat Center, located in Carrollton, OH. It was an experience on Aldersgate Street in England where John Wesley’s heart was, as he put it, “strangely warmed” by Christ. From that powerful experience, he went on to do amazing things for the Kingdom of God. At Camp Aldersgate, we strive to provide a powerful camp experience, where your heart too can be strangely warmed. Aldersgate’s Summer Camp program is one full of choice. Campers will be presented with a list of activities ranging from archery to culinary arts to fishing and more, picking their favorites. You can find a list of activities to choose from this year below! The site’s most unique feature is the waterfront located on Leesville Lake, a beautiful 1,000-acre lake. The waterfront is complete with fishing poles, a floating trampoline, stand up paddle boards, hydro bikes, pontoon boats, water basketball hoops and more!

You can’t go wrong with a week at Camp Aldersgate. How can we expect camp to look different this year as a result of Covid-19?
In 2021 we ran a model of camping we affectionately called “bubble camping” which gave our campers a taste of normal, but also greatly reduced the number of people they were exposed to thus greatly reducing the risks. As of the writing of this brochure, we anticipate we will continue to run this model. Aldersgate’s plans for Summer Camp includes direction from trusted experts on how best to manage the challenges that COVID-19 brings. Aldersgate will continue to comply with local COVID-19 regulations and best practices for camps to keep Aldersgate a healthy place for experiences that last a lifetime. Please check our website for updated information and policies on this subject. What will my child eat?
Aldersgate provides campers with a healthy balanced meal by providing a variety of home-cooked, kid-friendly meals. Our food is always prepared fresh. There are always options for picky eaters as each meal is served with extra options (bagels, cereal, fruit, yogurt, salad, etc). Tasty desserts are served once a day with supper.Where will my child live?
Our youngest campers (on average 1st-5th Graders) live in the Lodge with a cozy home-like feel including bathrooms on the hall. Our older campers (on average 6th-12th Graders) enjoy a traditional camp experience living in one of our cabins, complete with attached porch and bathrooms nearby.Who is taking care of my child?
Staff members, paid and volunteer, are carefully screened and selected, benefit from two weeks of training, and are led by a year-round staff with 25+ years of camp & retreat ministry experience. The staff is comprised of college students, adults of all ages, and junior staff assistants ages 15-17 with close supervision. How does health care work?
Health care is provided through the health director and Registered Nurse and all staff have training in their health care responsibilities. Staff follows Camp Doctor's standing orders for minor illness & injury, including first aid and over the counter medications. How do I know what to bring to camp?
A complete list is sent with your confirmation packet when you register and will be available on our website at www.CampAldersgate.org.Medical, Behavioral, Dietary and Social/Emotional Needs at Aldersgate
Aldersgate is able to accommodate many special needs but not all. Our goal is to provide an excellent experience for every camper. We best meet this goal when we have a plan in place ahead of a camper’s arrival.
