GENERAL CONFERENCE

UPDATE: On March 22, 2021, the Council of Bishops reconsidered and canceled its call for a Special Session of General Conference.

On Saturday, March 13 the Conference Council on Ministries, members of the East Ohio General Conference delegation, and Bishop Tracy S. Malone gave leadership to the livestreamed EOC General Conference Information Forum that addressed why the 2020 General Conference was further delayed until Aug. 29-Sept. 6, 2022 and outlined the legislation that would and would not be part of a Special Called Session of General Conference that was scheduled to be held online on May 8, 2021.

Bishop Tracy S. Malone closed that the information by saying, “We cannot predict what the outcome of the General Conference will be, but I am convinced that we can trust in the sufficiency of God’s love and grace knowing that no matter the outcomes, no matter the decisions, our God is faithful and will make the necessary provisions for the future of this East Ohio Conference, The United Methodist Church, and for our lives.”
