Good things are happening at Celebrate Recovery (CR) located at Christ UMC in the Southern Hills District. In its third year, CR is averaging 22 people attending every Thursday night.

In February, 35 family and friends attended a meal and movie night.

In March, CR hosted two Step Study groups (men’s and women’s). The in-depth study of the 12 steps are used as a tool in the recovery process. Approximately ten women and five men will be receiving their certificate of completion. This consists of an in-depth study of the 12 steps that are used as a tool in the recovery process. Also in March,three members of CR attended a one day CR training seminar in Dayton.

In April a “Life Healing Choices” study for both women and men began. This is an eight week, in-depth study of the eight principles that are used along with the 12 steps.

Celebration Place

A children' ministry within CR called “Celebration Place” for ages 5-13 has been created. It is held on Thursday nights from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., the same time as the adult CR.

What is awesome about this ministry?

While parents are in the adult CR, their kids are in the kids CR. This ministry focuses on the same 12 steps and 8 principles as the adult CR, except on a child’s level. Three children attended the first class.
