Rev. Kil Sang Yoon

Rev. Kil Sang Yoon is a retired Elder in The United Methodist Church and a member of the East Ohio Conference. His first ministry assignment as a student at Perkins School of Theology in Dallas, Texas in 1967 was as part of summer internship for seminarians and college students sponsored jointly by the Board of Missions and Board of Evangelism. He was assigned to serve at Camp Aldersgate in Carrollton, which in those days was managed by the Steubenville District of the East Ohio Conference.

Rev. Yoon later served four years as pastor of Smithfield UMC, three years as associate pastor of Todd Avenue UMC in Warren, six years as pastor of Brookfield UMC, and four years as pastor of Canfield UMC. In 1987 he moved to Nashville, Tennessee and served 16 years in the Division of Ordained Ministry for the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry. He had the honor of giving the sermon during the Service of Retirement in Hoover Auditorium at Lakeside Chautauqua when he retired in 2003. In retirement he moved to California where he served as part-time director of the Center for Asian and Pacific Islanders Ministries and as a volunteer fund raiser in the Office of Finance at Claremont School of Theology.

Rev. Yoon earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and a Master of Philosophy from Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea.
