PATHWAYS TO MINISTRY

Ministry Internship Project for College Students

The Pathways to Ministry Internship Program is for those who are open to the idea of God’s calling. The internship is an opportunity to discover personal gifts and graces, and learn how they relate to serving Christ and the church.

The East Ohio Conference 12-week summer internship program was established through the cooperative effort of the Episcopal Office and the Board of Ordained Ministry. 

Its purposes are:

• Identifying a diverse group of young adults looking to explore their gifts for ministry.
• Nurturing young persons through the process of discerning or clarifying their call or vocation.
• Providing a means for a variety of practical ministry experiences.
• Assisting to build relationships between younger generations of leaders and the church.

The program provides experience in Christian ministry within a United Methodist setting, with the intern being mentored by a clergy member and a committee of lay members of the host church.

United Methodist college students who have completed one year of undergraduate study, and who are open to serving in The United Methodist Church, may apply for the Ministry Internship Project. East Ohio Conference churches may apply to be a host site for an intern.
