Green Valley UMC (620 E Turkeyfoot Lake Rd, Akron, OH 44319) is looking for a new Director of Music. This is a 10-hour/week position. Responsibilities include playing the piano/keyboard (preference is that you play both), direct the Praise Band, select music for the choir and direct, manage the church’s CCLI reporting, and consult with the pastor weekly about music selections for the 9:00 a.m. service. Also work with the worship team to help create meaningful worship experiences. Responsibilities include: lead and oversee age-level ministries for Grades 6-12; discipleship for weekly youth Sunday morning Bible Study and fellowship/service activities; train and work with volunteers; oversee weekly youth gatherings in addition to Sunday worship - focusing on discipleship, worship, and spiritual formation; assist in planning and implementation of Camp Aldersgate week; actively participate in weekly worship - attend regularly when not participating; and engage students to attend weekly as well.
