Phyllis Jean Bell, clergy spouse, died August 8. A celebration of life service will be held September 28 at 11:00 a.m. at Gay Street UMC (18 North Gay St., Mount Vernon, OH 43050). Visitation will be held one hour prior.
Mrs. Bell is survived by husband the Rev. Gerald Bell, daughter Janet (Michael) Peterson, two grandsons, and one great-granddaughter.
Rev. Gerald Bell served the following churches in Ohio: Celina/Old Town, Fort Recovery Bethel, Continental, Burgoon, Galion: St. Paul, New Philadelphia: First, Mt. Vernon: Gay Street, Warren: First, Mt. Gilead: Trinity, and Green Valley Chapel. He retired in 1997.

Charles D. Beatty, retired Local Pastor, died July 22. A viewing was held July 26 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at New Rumley Global Methodist Church (41395 Scio-New Rumley Rd., New Rumley, OH 43988).
Pastor Beatty is survived by wife Klara; children Brigette (Keith) Rose, Daniel (Amanda Reed) Beatty, and Chrissie Gerber; and five grandchildren.
Pastor Beatty served Buena Vista, Cadiz Asbury Chapel, Branch, and Mingo Junction First United Methodist churches. He retired in 2012.

Dorothy Walther, surviving spouse of the Rev. Roy A. Walther, died July 1. A viewing was held July 12 at 10:00 a.m. at Damascus Methodist Church (300 Valley Rd., Damascus, OH) with a service to follow at 11:00 a.m.
Mrs. Walther is survived by sons Roy Jr. (Laura) and James (Lori), and four grandchildren.
Rev. Roy A. Walther served the following churches in Ohio: Antioch, Hannibal, Sugar Grove, Lansing, Caldwell, Wellsville First, Trinity, North Liberty, Butler Trinity, and Perrysville. He retired in 1997 and died in 2020.

David Bloor, retired Elder, died June 10. A memorial service was held June 27 at 11:00 a.m. at East Sparta Community Church (2041 Pine St. SE, East Sparta, OH 44626).
Rev. Bloor is survived by two sons and their families.

Rev. Dr. Lindberg is survived by his wife Louise; sons Philip (Lisa), Andrew, and Thomas (Sharen); and seven grandchildren.

Aletta R. Burkholder, retired Local Pastor, died April 20. A funeral service was held April 28.
Pastor Burkholder is survived by husband Ron; children Alan (Amanda), Rick (Sarah), Christi (Andy) Milliken, and Dan (Angela); 17 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pastor Burkholder served Bulah Calvary, Kelloggsville, and Madison Park United Methodist churches. She retired in 2011.

Lorraine S. Thompson, surviving spouse of the Rev. Ernest Thompson, died March 7. A memorial service will be announced at a later date when family can gather.
Mrs. Thompson is survived by children, Joy (Bill) Watts, David (Kathy) Thompson, and Jon (Brenda) Thompson; son-in-law Bernie Sauer; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Wynn A. Lembright, retired Elder, died February 17. A memorial service will be held June 5 at 11:00 a.m. at New Hope Academy (1820 Downs Blvd., Franklin, TN 37064).
Rev. Lembright is survived by wife Bonnie, children Holly (Corey) Martin and Jonathan (Jennifer) Lembright, and seven grandchildren.
Rev. Lembright served in extension ministry as chaplain, area representative and regional director for Fellowship of Christian Athletes of the Greater Philadelphia Area and as dean of admissions for Taylor University. He retired in 2008.

Jane E. Wilds, surviving spouse of the Rev. Neal Wilds, died February 19. Arrangements are in process for a possible memorial in Columbus, OH.
Mrs. Wilds is survived by children Rebecca and Chris, a son-in-law, and two grandchildren.
Rev. Neal Wilds served Brooklyn Memorial and Cleveland: Faith United Methodist churches. He retired in 2004 and died in 2019.

Jack O. Schierloh, retired Elder, died February 18. A remembrance service for family and friends will be held soon to celebrate the lives of both Rev. Schierloh and his wife, Jane, who preceded him in death.
Rev. Schierloh is survived by children Jay (Stacey), Jackie, and Tim (Teri); 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth Parks, surviving spouse of the Rev. Richard Parks, died February 13.
Rev. Richard Parks served Paradise Hill, Lisbon, Ontario, and Lakewood United Methodist churches and served as Steubenville District Superintendent. He retired in 2007 and died in 2018.
David N. J. Smith, clergy spouse, died February 15. A memorial service was held at 1:00 p.m. March 9 at Mentor UMC (8600 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060). The service will be livestreamed at mentorumc.org.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife the Rev. Dr. Ivy Smith, four adult children, and one minor child.
Rev. Dr. Ivy Jo Smith is currently appointed to Mentor UMC. She also served Pearl Road, Canton: Crossroads, Simpson, James S. Thomas, and Canfield UMCs.

Miriam Moore, surviving spouse of the Rev. Homer H. Moore, died January 30. A small memorial service will be held later this spring.
Mrs. Moore is survived by children Terry (Carol) Moore, Tanya (Steve) Whitaker, Melody Lee, Mark (Linda) Moore; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Rev. Homer H. Moore served Galena, Collins West Hartland, Rocky River, Chesterland Trinity, and South Arlington United Methodist Churches. He retired in 1990 and died in 1996.

Rev. Dr. Myers is survived by wife Marlyn, sons Calvin Jr. (Mary) and Michael, daughter Christa (Tim), and two grandsons.
Rev. Dr. Myers served New Philadelphia and Berea UMCs as well as on East Ohio Conference staff. He retired in 1993.

Rev. Clements-Milliner is survived by daughter Selena Wright-Johnson, son Joseph Clements III, three grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Rev. Clements-Milliner served Elyria: Asbury, Lorain: Wesley, Aldersgate, Ashland: St. Paul, Orrville: St. Luke, Akron: North Hill, Werner, and Aurora UMCs. She retired in 2007.
Ruth Partridge, surviving spouse of the Rev. Stanley Partridge, died August 7. Visitation was held August 14 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Arnold Funeral Home (504 W. Maple St., Hartville, OH 44632). The funeral service was held August 15 at 10:30 a.m. at Werner UMC (5116 Werner Church Rd. NE, North Canton, OH 44721).
Mrs. Partridge is survived by sons Stephen (Susan), Mark (Donna), and John (Patti), and 10 grandchildren.
Rev. Stanley Partridge served Wildare, Akron: Grace, Akron: Faith, Stow, Millersburg, Akron: Park, Youngstown: Mahoning, and Werner UMCs. He died in 2014.

Alfred J. Hubler, retired Elder, died July 31. His body was donated to Case Western Reserve Medical School. A memorial service was held at Bay UMC 29931 Lake Rd., Bay Village, OH 44140 on September 6 at 11:00 a.m.
Rev. Hubler is survived by daughters Barbara Hubler and Sandy (Morrie) Scherrens, two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Before retiring in 1995, Rev. Hubler served at Bennetts Corners, Boardman, Solon, Bellevue, Poland, and Bay UMCs and as Superintendent of the Akron District.
Ezzie Milliner, clergy spouse, died July 4. A funeral service was held July 12 at 10:30 a.m. at Calhoun Funeral Home (23000 Rockside Rd., Beford Heights, OH 44146).
Mr. Milliner is survived by his wife Rev. Dr. Rosa Clements-Milliner, son Wilford (Lynn) Terion, stepson Joseph Clements III, stepdaughter Selena Johnson, three granddaughters, and two great-granddaughters.
Rev. Dr. Rosa Clements-Milliner served Elyria Asbury, Lorain Wesley, Aldersgate, Ashland St. Paul, Orrville St. Luke, Akron North Hill, Werner, and Aurora UMCs. She retired in 2007.

Carlton Young, retired Elder, died May 21.
Rev. Young is survived by wife Marjorie; children Robert Young, James Young, Carol Young Wilson, and Richard Young; and six grandchildren.
Rev. Young served as minister of music for Church of the Saviour UMC and Youngstown Trinity UMC. Afterward, he served on the editorial staff of Abingdon Press, as director of church music for the Board of Publications, as associate professor of Church Music for Perkins School of Theology, and as professor of Church Music for Scarritt College and then Candler School of Theology. He retired from the East Ohio Conference in 1991.Virginia Schreckengost, surviving spouse of the Rev. George Schreckengost, died May 12. A funeral service was held May 20 at Sebring UMC.
Mrs. Schreckengost is survived by children Elaine Weaver, Ruth (Frank) Novak, Lois (Jim) Miller, John (John Kelly) Schreckengost, and Jim (Cathie) Schreckengost; and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Rev. George Schreckengost served Youngstown Trinity, Oak Chapel, and Sebring UMCs in addition to being director of the North-East Ohio Regional Church Planning Office and associate director of Conference Council on Ministries. He retired in 2008 and died in 2020.

James T. Henderson, retired Elder, died June 20, 2022. A memorial service was held June 28 in the Chapel of Central UMC in Monroe, NC.
Rev. Henderson is survived by wife Nancy, sons Timothy (Esmeralda) and Mark (Page); seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Rev. Henderson served as a U.S. Air Force Chaplain and at churches in Ohio and New York. He retired from the East Ohio Conference in 1974.

Prior to his death in 1979, Rev. Walton served as pastor at Greentown, Steubenville: Buena Vista-Brentwood, and Lorain: First. He also served as coordinator for the Heart of Cleveland Council, minister of the Metropolitan Mission of Cleveland, and district superintendent of the Youngstown District.

Earl Kent Brown, retired Elder, passed away December 5, 2018. A committal service was held at Lakeside on March 19 and a memorial service was held at Walnut Creek UMC in Benecia, CA on April 4. He is survived by his three nieces: Martha Jean Brown, Mary Lee Brown, and Carolyn Tausch Harvey.
Rev. Brown was a visiting lecturer, instructor and assistant professor at Baldwin Wallace University (1956-1962) and a professor at Boston University School of Theology from 1963 until his retirement in 1987.

Mary Lou Franklin, surviving spouse of the Rev. Dr. Wilbur B. Franklin, died June 22. A private burial was held at Green Haven Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Franklin was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Dr. Wilbur B. Franklin. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Jim Franklin.
Before retiring in 1998, Rev. Franklin served the following churches in the North-East Ohio and East Ohio conferences: Pavonia, Madison Chapel, New Concord, Alliance–Union Ave. and Youngstown–Trinity. He also served as Chaplain and instructor of Religion at Muskingham College and as dean of Chapel and assistant professor of Religious Studies at Albion College. Prior to retirement, he served as Norwalk district superintendent.
Catherine Lee, surviving spouse of the Rev. George E. Lee, died June 21.
