Creative Alternatives to Public Worship Services

Livestream

If you plan to stream worship, make sure you have the appropriate Streaming and Podcasting License, which is NOT part of the CCLI license billed through your apportionments. Churches need to purchase their own Streaming and Podcasting License and then need to follow the copyright rules regarding any music used during the service. Facebook Live or Instagram Live

You don’t have to be fancy. Pastors can go live from home and share an encouraging message in a troubling time. You will need to be added as an admin. to your church's Facebook page or be given the Instagram login credentials if you don't already have it.

Periscope

This is a free option accessed via Twitter or your web browser at https://www.pscp.tv/.

YouTube Live and Twitch

This is a free option accessible via a mobile app and browser at https://www.twitch.tv/.

Pre-record your message and schedule it to go live on Facebook, YouTube or Vimeo

This alternative to livestreaming allows for better control over the quality of your video and audio.

Zoom Video Communications

This is a great way to hold small groups. Members can log on via computer or phone, see each other's faces, and grow together, separately. There is a free plan available. https://zoom.us

Loom

The company just announced it is extending record time for its FREE package. Use Loom to record sermons and lessons to post online or share through via email. Loom is also offering its PRO plan to Students and Educators for FREE. Access at https://www.loom.com/.

This option offers churches to focus on smaller home church meetings. Limit gatherings to smaller sizes while meeting in member houses.

Free Conference Call

Host your sermon as a conference call and listen in via phone or computer. Access at https://www.freeconferencecall.com.

Keep your church informed of changes and updates in an instant with this feature accessed at https://textinchurch.com. This is a paid service but it does offer a 2-week free trial period. Recipients opt-in to receive notifications.
