Faith United Methodist Church is Certified Sensory Inclusive
KultureCity has partnered with Faith United Methodist Church in North Canton, Ohio, to make the church and all of the worship services, programs and events that the church hosts to be sensory inclusive. This new initiative will promote an accommodating and positive experience for all persons and those with a sensory issue who visit Faith UMC.
According to statistics from the U.S. Census Bureau, in 2014:
July 2016 marked the 20th anniversary of President George H.W. Bush signing into law the Americans with Disabilities Act. The act prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities in employment, transportation, public accommodations, commercial facilities, telecommunications, and state and local government services.
Funding is available through the DisAbility Ministries Committee of the United Methodist Church, General Board of Global Ministries. Limited grants may assist with funding certain accessibility and inclusion projects. Grant applications are due by July 1 of each year. An application form that includes requirements can be downloaded at the Committee website.
These grants are made possible by donations to the UMCDM through the Advance, #30210542. Please consider making a donation to help our churches become more accessible for persons living with disabilities.
United Methodist churches seeking to develop Deaf or hard-of-hearing ministries may apply for a Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Ministries grant.
