Spotlight on New Missionaries from Global Ministries
East Ohio congregations are needed to be part of the work of United Methodist missionaries through prayer and salary support. To learn more about how you, your small group, or your congregation can be a partner in the ministry of the missionaries listed below or any of our other 300+ missionaries around the world, contact the Conference Secretary of Global Ministries Kate Colbow by e-mail or find more information in the links below.
Rev. Álvaro Rodrigo Godínez Jiménez serves as a faith community builder in Morelia, Michoacan in Mexico. He says, “God is opening doors for us to share Jesus in different ways with different people. It is very pleasing to be able to share with older adults and bring them to Jesus through songs, games, and reflections … we continue in this beautiful work with the help of God and your partnership.”
Janice Sehyung Lee serves as the Christian Education Specialist at the Methodist Mission in Phnom Penh, Cambodia where she is developing Sunday School curriculum and other Christian education media. She also serves as coordinator for the Susanna Welsey House, a dormitory that houses 25 young women pursuing university education.
Blair Moses Kamanga is the agriculture coordinator for the Mozambique North Annual Conference. He uses his expertise in crop production, irrigation, and animal production to get at the root issues of agricultural challenges and help strengthen individuals and communities in a country affected by war, natural disasters, and political injustice.

2024 Global Mission Fellows Applications are Open!
Become a Global Mission Fellow (GMF) and join the movement of young adults who cross boundaries to better understand and respond to injustice in the world! The Global Mission Fellows program of The United Methodist Church matches young adults, ages 20–30, with local social justice ministries around the world for two years of service. The program is excited to announce the application launch for the 2025-2027 GMF International Cohort!
Fellows form meaningful relationships with their host community as they are mentored by organizations meeting immediate needs and working toward lasting transformation. They receive ongoing training in spiritual and professional development and the program facilitates ways for the cohort to stay connected to each other during their time of service.
Learn more and find the application. Deadline for the international track is January 15, 2025, and those selected for the next Global Mission Fellow cohort will begin onboarding around April 2025 and start service in August 2025.
